Chris is a young man who desires to impact the world one person
at a time. He is an exceptional husband and father to his family with a strong
belief of investing in people. He has dedicated 12 years of his life, with persistent
commitment to assuring the success of our young adults. His ability to take
an obstacle and turn it into an opportunity has allowed him the chance to enrich
the lives of many of our youth today. The passion, love, humor, and charisma
that are expressed in his character elevate him to communicate effectively to
young adults from all walks of life. His ability to rip perceptions apart and
speak to the core issues enables him to be an exceptional cross-cultural communicator.
The experience of being a high school teacher for 3 years and coach for 6
years has given him a true understanding of teens. During his time at Belleville
High School (MI), he established hundreds of relationships while gaining the trust
of many students. His experience has given him insight on the importance of
establishing healthy relationships with our young adults. He believes our teens
are not being reached because of false perceptions they hold regarding adults.
He strongly feels that many adults wear a mask that only divides and conquers
the relationship that our teens need. However, he is convinced that past adult
experiences should be shared as educational tools, rather than hidden behind
perfect images.
During his time at Eastern Michigan University, where he earned a Bachelor
of Arts in Business Administration, he played on the football team. As a college
athlete, many pressures and temptations were frequently faced and overcome.
The collaboration of his experiences has given him a full understanding of the
pressures teens face and how much of an impact today's choices have on
their future chances.
A philosophy that Chris shares with youth is to "always make your
expectations greater than your temptations". Chris believes that if
teens took this approach, they could prevent unwanted pregnancies,
avoid sexually-transmitted diseases, and pursue higher education. He
also feels that embracing this philosophy would also inspire teens to
focus on what they want the most, instead of instant gratification that
often jeopardizes their dreams. The in-depth approach he uses forces
student audiences to search their hearts and recognize their current
conditions while reflecting on their future goals. When Chris speaks to
young adults he communicates as if their future depends on it, leaving
them empowered with determination and a sense of self-worth
