I thought my boyfriend loved me because I mean he acts as if he does. We are having sex but I feel as if that's all he wants, and I am scared to tell him I don't want to do it all the time because of his temper. He was my first. What should I do? [ view ]
My boyfriend and I have been going out for over a year. We've had sex, but now I'm feeling that this is not what I want. I thought I was in "love" but I know that its not now. What can I do? [ view ]

Thanks for writing. I'm glad to hear that you're ready to start making some better decisions for yourself! It's going to be difficult to stay in a relationship with someone you've been sexually active with and not continue having sex. I strongly suggest giving the relationship a rest for a while so that you can get your head together and set some clear boundaries for yourself. Have a discussion with the person about what your new boundaries are for the relationship (be very clear that you will not be engaging in sexual activity of any kind again until you are married). If he gets an attitude or leaves the relationship then he probably just wanted to take advantage of you and is not worth your time anyway.

The key to remaining abstinent is setting strong boundaries for yourself and sticking by them. Stuff like only going on group dates, no drugs or alcohol, hanging out with people who are about the same positive things you are, and not allowing people to put their hands on those body parts that are for your future spouses hands and eyes only. I know you can do it and on your honeymoon you and your husband will be glad you did! Take care.

The statistics said that 63% of teens that drink are likely to have sex unlike 26% of teens who don't drink. What if the teen said they could "control" their amount of intake? Are they still likely to have sex? [ view ]
