When it comes to risky behaviors like drinking, smoking and premarital sex, everyone thinks that they are in complete "control" of the situation until they realize they're not. Think about it... who ever says they want to become a drug addict, alcoholic or teen mom or dad??? The excuse I hear the most when reality strikes is, "I can't believe it happened to me", or, "...It just happened". The main idea of the stat that you mentioned is that kids who are willing to engage in one dangerous and irresponsible activity are likely to engage in others as well, regardless of how in control or responsible they think they are. It is impossible to engage in an irresponsible behavior "Responsibly". |
