About the PeerPositive Peer-mentoring program
The PeerPositive program is the perfect “youth to youth” supplemental solution to reinforce any organizations current “adult to youth” positive youth development efforts. As a part of the program, students receive interactive and culturally relevant instruction on leadership, presentation development, healthy relationships, conflict resolution, effective communication skills, and the avoidance of risky behaviors. In addition to their own personal growth, participants will be trained on how to use  PeerPositive.com to effectively engage, equip and empower their peers, by hosting Web Parties in their communities as certified PeerPositive Educators.

In a Nutshell…

The objectives of PeerPositive are:

1. To develop young leaders of character, equipped to positively impact their communities.
2. To raise awareness of, and provide risk avoidance solutions for the growing epidemics of youth violence, substance abuse, teen pregnancy and STD rates.
3. To increase information retention by providing a vehicle through which students can disseminate to their peers the valuable information that has been imparted to them.
4. To create a climate of “positive” peer pressure within schools and communities, by providing youth with information, leadership training and community service opportunities centered on empowering youth to become the solution to their own problems.
